This gallery shows skimming, re-plastering and finishing work carried out in homes across Essex, from single ceilings repaired after a leak to whole houses re-skimmed as part of larger renovations. Whatever the size of the job, the aim is the same: walls and ceilings that look flawless under paint and stay that way.

Preparation carries most of the result. We rake out blown or hollow plaster, treat and bond backgrounds properly, bead external corners and only then apply the finish coats, trowelled up to a smooth, hard surface that decorators love working on. In older Essex properties we deal with uneven backgrounds, original lath and modern boarding side by side, choosing the right system for each wall rather than a one size fits all approach.
