A roof has one job to do and decades to do it, so we build ours to last. The projects in this gallery include full re-roofs in natural slate and concrete tile, flat roof replacements, structural repairs and leadwork across Chelmsford and the wider Essex area, alongside one installation of solar panels fitted over a slate roof.

Every re-roof starts with the substrate. We strip back to the rafters, replace any timber that has decayed, and re-batten over a modern breathable membrane before laying the new covering. Ridges, hips, valleys and flashings are detailed to shed water for the long term, and we leave gutters, fascias and soffits ready for the weather. On the solar project shown here, the panels were mounted and flashed so the slate roof beneath stays completely sound.
